I am not going to over-analyze this song the way other music bloggers might, because it’s a demo and I’m not going to talk shit on it like other music bloggers might, because I like it. I mean why the hell would I post it if I didn’t? I will say this though, the new, more country-ish sound is awesome and I admire the fact that CYHSY are willing to take their sound in different directions. Like Albert Einstein said, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

This is essentially a collaboration between two of my favorite bands, The Knife and Studio. The Knife’s Karin Dreijer’s side project Fever Ray is dark, solemn minimalism, where as Dan Lissvik and Studio’s previous efforts are airy, tranquil and occasionally upbeat. A nice juxtaposition:

YES! The brilliant minds at Rather Good, who have treated us to such classics as “Gaybar“, are back with this retardedly awesome parody of The Kraftwerk song “We Are the Robots”, entitled “Kraftwurst – We Are Pork Products”.
French Electro Pop maestro Sebastien Tellier is by no means an ass, but his new video for “Roche” features a giant female one, on the beach, that he rides upon it on horseback. Essentially, it’s the album cover come to life. Genius.
Eternal Summer? Yea that would be nice, but this post is about the band from Virginia and their little pop gem “Able To”, which is clearly inspired by 90’s alt-rock and hasn’t left my head in days. So good.
Purchase the band’s EP from their MySpace page and check out two other awesome Virginia bands Sad Cobras and Hot Lava.

This song from Finland’s Burning Hearts pretty much has it all–a lovely voice, a great melody and a super-catchy chorus. The simple electronic rhythm and loopy arrangements are irresistible–especially if you’re a fan of early Belle and Sebastian.
Their album Alboa Sleeping is available now from Shelflife.

The newest addition to the moody UK shoegaze/euphoric rock lineage is The Big Pink, who I have written about previously. Their second single from their forthcoming 4AD album is not as amazing as “Too Young To Love” but the cool mirror effects in the video keep things interesting.
