I posted a track from Serena Maneesh’s new album not too long ago, but this one has got me psyched. It’s more poppy, immediate and no less sexy. Look at that picture above, hot damn! Something tells me that if they make a video for this, it’s going to be rad…
The Broken Bells collaboration between James Mercer of The Shins and Danger Mouse may be the best thing that Mercer has done since the first Shins album. Check out the video for the first single “The High Road” above. It features the guys encountering trippy shit as they walk along a long road in the middle of the night. Did Large Marge send ‘em?
The full album drops in March. Get more info from the Broken Bells site.
Is it shaping up to be the year Yeasayer? Me thinks so, especially after playing the new album Odd Blood. on repeat for the past few weeks. Goddamn it’s good (in a Hot Chip x Animal Collective x Paul Simon x Prince kind of way — phew!)
The newest single, O.N.E won’t officially be available until March 23, but you can download the calypso-psyched out gem now for free via the band’s widget below (just enter your email address). Weeeeeeeeee.
Check out a charming rendition of the Genesis classic “That’s All” from Clare and the Reasons. You can catch another in-store performance clip over at Art in the Age.
BONUS: Here’s an mp3 of the cover (via MOKB)
Marry me, Victoria Legrand? We can live here.
Beach House’s immaculate Teen Dream is out tomorrow on Sub Pop. BUY IT!
Yes! The always brilliant Dan Snaith aka Caribou has a new album, Swim, coming out on April 20th! Here’s a free track preview, which sounds like a new direction for Snaith, a la The Whitest Boy Alive. Interesting…
{MP3} Caribou – “Odessa”
Check out the first video from Beach House’s upcoming album Teen Dream, which is my favorite of the year thus far (yes, I know it’s still early, but it’s amazing.).
Why can’t our award shows be this weird and awesome?
More weirdness: Fever Ray accepts her award…and she is so happy that her face begins to melt! yay!
Even more weirdness: A performance by The Teddybears…wearing large bear heads! Ahhh! yay!
Watch the Swedish Grammy’s (formal name P3 Guld) in its entirety HERE.
Jónsi stopped by WNYC recently for an interview and an intimate acoustic set. Behold:

Brilliant, nervy synth-punk from Brooklyn’s Led er Est that will make your eye twitch with dystopian satisfaction:
{MP3} Led Er Est – “Laredo”
Their album is out now on Wierd Records.
