Yes Sufjan Stevens’ new music recalls early ’00s Radiohead and Postal Service, but that’s not a bad thing. Plus, the sound is pretty daring when compared to his previous works. Here is the second track from the upcoming album The Age of Adz and it’s filled with tons of things I love – stuttering electronic beats and robot farts. Keep ‘em comin’, SS!
Serena-Maneesh and Stereolab collaboration? Why didn’t someone think of this sooner? No worries though, because here is the glorious result. A blissed-out Krautrock-y carnival…
Grab the limited 12″ version, along with a remix from Lindstrom, from 4AD.
Check out the first video from the debut album Fields by Junip (Jose Gonzalez + friends). I won’t give it away, but let’s just say that director Andreas Nilsson (The Knife, Fever Ray, MGMT, Yeasayer) does not disappoint.
Norwegian electronic duo Royksopp’s newest video is far more interesting than it’s accompanying song. Teenage girls in air-brushed t-shirts find themselves in a post-apocalyptic wasteland inhabited by mutants. Norway or North Philly? You decide.
A new, cool looking video from Philly bliss-out band Golden Ages. It’s all fine and dandy until someone gets smothered at a dance-party or drowned in their own bathtub.
“Radiohead have thrown their support behind a fan-made live DVD, providing the hi-fi soundtrack to Czech film-makers’ amateur shots. The British band provided audio masters to the makers of Prague DVD, a DIY concert film shot on 23 August 2009…
“It’s a strangely communal document, collecting the viewpoints of more than 50 camera-people – each with a cheap handheld Flip camera. A group of Radiohead fans descended on the Výstaviště Holešovice exhibition hall in Prague to capture the band perform, using as many different angles as possible,” explain the film-makers.
“Radiohead reportedly love it, giving film-makers the soundboard recordings that would make or break the movie. If you manage to access the Prague DVD website, you can download the entire set for free, including a version for the iPhone. Czech Radiohead fans can even obtain a free CD. ‘Strictly not for sale,’ reads the site. ‘By the fans, for the fans. Please share and enjoy.’
Check out the trailer and a clip below. Pretty amazing stuff!
