Captain Sensible Wears a Red Beret and Lives Under Your Bed
The Damned are a London-based punk/garage band that many say were responsible for inspiring West-Coast Hardcore music of the early 80's. Visually, the band embraced a sort of gothic appearance. Led by carabet inspired lead singer Dave Vanian, red beret sporting guitarist Captain Sensible, and drummer Rat Scabies, they created high-energy, accessible songs.
This 1977 clip of the band performing their seminal single "Neat Neat Neat," showcases them at their very best.
