I Love Livin’ In The City

In 1978 the Los Angeles punk band Fear released their first 7 inch, “I Love Livin’ In the City,” on Criminal Records. An guttural ode to the squalor and filth of inner-city living, this beer bottle breaking anthem came to mind while walking to work this morning.
I saw two neck-tattooed townies fist fighting over a parking space, a homeless drunk piss himself while waiting to hustle enough change to buy a fifth of generic vodka, and a Septa bus run over a pigeon.
Oh how I love livin’ in the city where “junk is king and the air smells shitty.”
