Island of Psychedelic Haze

Envision yourself on a some exotic island, laying in a hammock. A cocktail in hand as you watch the waves come crashing against the shore. The sun grows stronger yet the breeze prevents the heat from becoming overwhelming. The music you hear playing in the background is quiet at first and you aren’t quite sure what to make of it. Sure, the acid you had taken a few hours back is now in full-effect and you could just be imagining these mysterious yet enchanting sounds. Is your mind playing tricks on you? No. You definitely hear music of some sort. It is getting louder with every passing second. It is slow and very reminiscent of reggae and dub. Layers of percussion, heavy bass, lucid guitars and drugged out British vocals fill your ears. It is the perfect soundtrack for your surroundings. But who is it? Did the Cure move to Jamaica and record a new album? Is it a dub version of some brit-pop tune?
