Love City, She and Him, Friendly Fires and MGMT All Playing Philly Tonight!
There is no shortage of good bands playing tonight in Philly, here's a quick rundown of our recommendations:
Love City @ Johnny Brenda's
Impressive local garage-rockers Love City amp it up at Johnny Brenda's with psych surf-rockers Mondo Topless, who are as fun as ever.
She and Him @ The Troc
Indie music's latest power couple M. Ward and too cute for words Zooey Deschanel bring their classic mix of folk and country as She and Him to The Troc. Did I mention how cute Zooey is? Sigh.
Friendly Fires @ Transit (Making Time)
On the other hand, if you just wanna dance and can deal with sweaty wanna-be hipsters who wear 80s styled clothes that people in the 80s probably wouldn't even have worn, then feel free to head to Making Time at Transit and dance your face off with the UK's newest and quite possibly smartest electro-pop export Friendly Fires. Your brain says no, but your legs say yes!
MGMT @ The Starlight Ballroom
Unfortunately the MGMT show is all sold out, but you could always take some acid, tailgate outside of the Starlight and reenact the video for "Time to Pretend."
Have fun kiddies!
