My Name is Joe Meek, And "I Hear a New World"

Hi, my name is Joe Meek, and back in the late 50's, I discovered a way to travel into the future. I visited many periods (including your curent year, 2008) and saw so many interesting things, but when I went to tell people about them, they took me for a loon. Understandable. I mean, I could hardly believe it myself. It was frightening. I saw things that haunted me, but despite these ominous visions, and since I am naturally curious, I went back into the future again and again. After a while, I became addicted. It kept calling me...

I figured the only way that I could express my feelings about what I had seen, was to do it through music. In 1959, I wrote an album called I Hear a New World - an Outer Space Music Fantasy, which was a concept album about my fascination with outer-space. Since the idea of space exploration wasn't an uncommon one, I thought it would provide a more realistic platform for my message.

"I Hear a New World," performed by my friends Rod Freeman and the Blue Men, is a song that expresses the dark side of my time-traveling experiences, including the harrowing experience of witnessing my own death in 1967.

You can purchase the entire album and see one of my films by utilizing this wonderful network known as the internet.
