Big Star is one of those American rock bands who were sort of popular in their day, but after a modern television show, (That 70s Show) adopted one of their songs, people began re-pledging their allegiance to the band. Honestly, I’ve never really cared about Big Star, but I do think their song “Thirteen” is lovely.

“Won’t you let me walk you home from school? Won’t you let me meet you at the pool?” How sweet can this be? All they wanna do is see if there are tickets available for the dance on Friday, and if there are, you’re gonna go! Siiiiiigh. Makes me think of daisies, and golden summer afternoons, and Matthew McConaughey’s classic line in Dazed and Confused, “that’s what I love about these high school girls, man. I get older, they stay the same age.”
