Re-Arranged: Prefuse 73 Hints At a New Direction

Along with each album release, Prefuse 73 occasionally includes a bonus disc of extra material, and it tends to be stronger than the main release.

I'm a big fan of artists that take risks and try new things and the music featured on the Preparations bonus disc is radically different than it's counterpart's. Refreshing! No signature Prefuse beats here, just choral arrangements and string ensembles glazed with electronic noodling. One track in particular, the haunting "Spacious and Dissonant Part 2," lives up to its name and could either be thought of as a lost Tim Burton/Danny Elfman collaboration, or music you would hear at church...in the 8th dimension. Ch-ch-ch-changes...
