Reasons Why You Should Get Into Hot Lava

A few months ago we posted two great songs by an unsigned band — Virginia's Hot Lava. Not too long ago we were asked nicely by their new label Bar None (congrats!) to take them down, since their self-released album Lavalogy would soon be remastered. Of course, we graciously cooperated.

To our delight, the new versions sound even better than the originals. The harmonies are far richer sounding and now we are falling in love with these kids all over again. So why should you accept them as your new "lava"? Well, here are some reasons:

1. You appreciate classic songwriting.

2. You are weird and have a great sense of humor.

3. You enjoy songs with smart, clever lyrics.

4. Their debut album will leave a permanent smile on your face.

5. The band will be doing a split with Dan Deacon and Videohippos next year. YES!
