That's Gay: The Homosexuals

During the late 70's, a group of young men formed a band and decided to call themselves the Homosexuals. To no one's surprise, they weren't on any fanzine covers nor were they played in heavy rotation on the radio. No, they kind of recorded one album then faded into oblivion. The Village Voice called them "as potent and visionary as Wire or Pere Ubu," which is fairly impressive, unfortunately no one has really heard of them!

In 2004, The Homos reissued most of their entire catalog onto a 3 disc box set called Astral Glamour. In Pitchfork's words, "the three-plus hours of material ranging over Astral Glamour unites The Homosexuals' fragmentary oeuvre to reveal them as punk visionaries who were at least as questing, untamed, and ultimately listenable as any of their more renowned contemporaries.
