The Midnight Cowboy Appears In the Afternoon And Everybody's Talkin' At Me
If you have access to any type of news media at all, then you must know that today is Pennsylvania's primary election for the Democratic Presidential candidate. When I went to the park for lunch, I did my best to avoid the barrage of opinionated Clinton and Obama devotees. I found a bench in the sun, far enough away from the onslaught of competitive campaigners, where I could quietly enjoy the afternoon without bother.
Then a man dressed as a cowboy came along with a "Cowboys for Obama" sign tied to his back. He got out a lasso and proceeded to entertain the lunch-time park crowd with simple rodeo tricks. All I could think of was Midnight Cowboy and Harry Nilsson's version of the Fred Neil song "Everybody's Talkin."
Less than 3 hours till the polls close. If only that would shut everybody up, but I'm not gonna hold my breath.
