The Only Blip-Hop Record You Will Ever Need
Feeling inspired by Michael’s Kanye West robot post from yesterday, I had to break out the Blip-Hop. I’m not 100% sure that you will ever really need a Blip-Hop record, but if you do, look no further than Luaka Bop’s, The Only Blip-Hop Record You Will Ever Need Vol.1.
Leave it to David Byrne to compile a selection of Northern Europe’s most promising Blip Hoppers i.e. Mouse on Mars, Schneider TM, Pole, and Doctor Rockit for starters. More dance club DJ than street smart MC, these tracks are akin to music you would hear at a quirky boutique in Copenhagen, or perhaps as background music playing at a cafe in Berlin. Regardless, this album sounds like down-tempo robot music and if Kanye’s performance left you feeling exhausted, a little Blip-Hop is just the thing you need to reboot. Check out Luaka Bop for more mechanical music.
