Texan Psychobilly Meat Grinder Punk Is Uncalled 4

I was introduced to The Uncalled 4 through volume 8.5 of my favorite series of DIY obscure punk records, the Killed By Death compilations. Never before had cannibalism sounded as sweet as the first time I heard the 1979 single “Grind Her Up,” off Tiger Tail Records. This is pure Texan psychobilly at its’ distorted, cockeyed, gnarly best.
A ode to serial killer Ed Gein, The Uncalled 4 describe “Grind Her Up” as having “disemboweled rhythms with a lead guitar that cuts like a dull knife, and a singer who’s experience as a cattle auctioneer (no kidding) up in Rhome, Texas really paid off.” I’m sure the Ed “Psycho” Gein would have been proud.
