While You Are Waiting For a New My Bloody Valentine Album…

When most people think of My Bloody Valentine, they think of them as being somewhat of an original band, which is true, but they weren’t always so original. Like most bands, they started out with a sound that wasn’t all their own. On their 1985 EP, Geek, that sound belonged to The Cramps.

“No Place to Go,” the lead-off track is a cool gothic-esque noise-pop anthem that is totally atypical of their now familiar sound, but no less awesome. The EP is one of my favorites by the band, but purchasing it on vinyl, is costly…around 200 dollars…

Here’s to hoping for an official re-issue of the EP, along with a new album and a live stop in Philly? Yea, I’ll be the one calling for them to play this song.
