Before Depeche Mode held “Black Celebrations” and instituted their “Policy of Truth,” they showed the world their “Big Muff.”
Running over 4 minutes in length, Depeche Mode’s “Big Muff” was a bonus track from the 1981 album Speak and Spell, and remains an untrimmed symbol of great synth-pop. Rumor has it that Dave Gahan actually insisted that it have lyrics about a space alien’s big vagina. Sorry guy, but that shit don’t fly in a Depeche-ocracy.
